Green-covered mountains, sparkling waters, and good music are hallmarks of summer in peaceful Berkeley Springs and Morgan County. The free Summer Concerts in the Park series in Berkeley Springs State Park every Saturday afternoon, July 10–August 21, is a popular outing for visitors and locals. The band mix is eclectic, including everything from California blues and African drums to Balkan music and a review of local roots all-stars, brought to town by the Morgan Arts Council.

Outdoor life shines here, with golf on a Robert Trent Jones-designed 18-hole public course at Cacapon State Park. The kids can swim in Cacapon Lake, with its sand beach and paddle boats, or hike the many miles of mountain trails. There is also swimming daily in town at the outdoor pool in Berkeley Springs State Park or splashing in the open display of spring waters in shallow pools and channels, including the world-famous George Washington’s Bathtub. Learn all about the springs in the museum above the Roman Bath House in the park, open Friday–Monday.
